Journey Note
7 Aug 2026
Hi everyone. Welcome to my Quran journey.
I began learning Tadabbur more seriously in 2024. Since then, I have studied around 30 Surahs, mostly by watching Tadabbur classes on YouTube by Ustaz Abdul Muien.
What I appreciate about his classes is the depth of his explanations. Sometimes, one Ayat alone can take more than 30 minutes because he connects it with other Ayat from the Quran, relevant Hadith and lessons that I may never have noticed by reading on my own. I am truly grateful that Allah allowed me to discover a teacher from whom I could learn so much.
Whenever I study, I write everything by hand. That has always been the most effective method for me. I understand and remember things better when I write my own notes rather than type them.
Over time, those notes became four full notebooks.
But I began to notice a problem. When I returned to a Surah that I had studied months earlier, I could not always remember everything I had learned. I knew the explanation was somewhere inside my notebooks, but finding it again meant going through page after page.
That was when I started thinking: what if I could preserve these notes digitally and search them by Surah, Ayat or keyword?
That thought became my personal Quran Companion application. It allows me to convert my handwritten notes into organised digital entries and arrange them according to Tafsir and translation, Tadabbur explanations, related Quranic Ayat, Hadith, references and my own personal reflections.
At first, I built it only for myself.
Then one thought led to another. I wondered whether these notes might also benefit my family and close friends. Not everyone has the time to watch hours of Tadabbur classes and write down everything that was taught. People also learn differently. Some understand more easily by listening, while others prefer reading or seeing information organised clearly.
That is why I created this public page.
It is not intended to replace the original classes, Tafsir or guidance from qualified teachers. It is simply a record of what I have learned, written in a format that is easier to revisit and share. For most of the surah, I will include the original video and references so that readers can return to the source.
The first Surah I chose to publish is Al-A‘la. It is one of my favourite Surahs, and I recite it almost every day. Listening to its recitation often brings me to tears, especially these Ayat:
“Selanjutnya dia di sana tidak mati dan tidak pula hidup.”
“Bahkan kamu mengutamakan kehidupan dunia.”
Both Ayat touch me deeply. One reminds me of the Hereafter, while the other makes me reflect on how easily we become occupied with work, money and the pursuit of a better life until we slowly forget Allah. This is why Al-A‘la is so special to me, it always brings me back and reminds me of what truly matters.
That, to me, is the value of Tadabbur.
It is not only about reading an Ayat or knowing its translation. It is about slowing down, understanding its message and asking what it should change within us. How should this Ayat affect the way I think, live and make decisions?
Surah Al-A‘la itself reminds us to continue giving reminders when reminders may benefit. Perhaps something I learned will become a reminder for someone else. Perhaps one Ayat will encourage another person to begin their own journey with the Quran.
Insya-Allah, I plan to update this website weekly. I will publish the Surahs gradually, based on the handwritten notes I have collected over the years.
If you are new to Tadabbur, you do not need to begin with many Surahs at once. Begin with one Surah, or even one Ayat. Read it slowly, learn from reliable teachers, write down what you understand and give yourself time to reflect.
Every journey begins somewhere. This is where I am beginning to share mine.
